BORUSAN CAT KAZAKHSTAN’S MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: MODERN APPROACH TO EMPLOYEES TRAINING
Mentorship is an effective training method where an experiences specialist shares his/her knowledge and skills with a less experienced employee. Borusan Cat Kazakhstan company uses this approach actively in its activities and implements mentorship program for machines operators.
In early 2024 20 dump truck operators including 2 women from customer’s company AK Altynalmas JSC were enrolled in the training under this program. The training was conducted at Borusan Cat Kazakhstan’s Component Rebuild Center in Karaganda. The trainees were divided into two groups. One group consisting of 12 trainees was trained from February 2 to February 6, 2024, and the other group consisting of 10 trainees was trained from February 17 to February 22, 2024.
The purpose of the mentorship program is to improve performance of the Customers’ equipment, reduce downtime and as a result maximize profit due to employees training in appropriate and safe equipment operation practices. Under the Program the Training and Development Department of Borusan Cat Kazakhstan company prepared a comprehensive program comprising training materials for improvement of knowledge and skills of machines operators.
Upon completion of the Program the mentors received certificates entitling them to conduct trainings at their enterprises to improve trainees’ professional level. This will help to share knowledge and skills with young specialists more effectively ensuring smooth transition from training to practical work.
Under mentorship program young dump truck operators can gain necessary skills and also adopt experience and the best practices from professional mentors. The purpose of this initiative is to support professional development of employees and to improve the company’s corporate culture.
