In June 2024 Caterpillar company announced global competition for dealers’ technicians Global Dealer Technician Challenge 2024 (GDTC). GDTC is a practical competition consisting of three rounds where participants demonstrate their skills and knowledge and compete for the title of the best global dealer’s mechanic. Winner will have a unique opportunity to represent his/her dealership at international exhibition ConExpo and to be recognized as the best specialist in his/her professional area.
Criteria for participants in the competition:
1. Experience in repair and diagnostics, knowledge of the structure of machines used in road construction industry;
2. 5 or more years of experience in maintenance of road construction equipment.
Participants must also have the following knowledge and competencies:
• Search for failures in electrical, electronic, brake, steering systems and in power train;
• Knowledge of engine systems and hydraulic systems;
• Knowledge of the principles of occupational hygiene, safety and environment protection;
• Experience in recycling and utilization/AFA;
• Experience of work with Customers.
The first round of the competition took place from July 15 to August 9 and included internal selection of technicians who will representat Borusan Cat Kazakhstan at the international competition. Four candidates took part in it:
Based on the results of the qualifying round Kurmangaliyev Arkhat and Sichkarenko Anatoliy passed to the next round that will take place in the period from October 14 to October 31, 2024. In the end there will be named the mechanic who will take part in regional competition that will take place on November 24, 2024.
